Viliv is coming up with yet another high-end UMPC (and not just netbook) as they advances U5 design around CES back in January to S7 as for now. Merging a sleek look with cool features like swivel touchscreen and long battery life along with Atom and WiMax; you sure would like to have one in your palm…

Though there is no track for a trackpad in Viliv S7, this beauty holds some killer features as 3G HSDPA or WiMax Module, GPS Module, Silverthorne CPU upto 1.86Ghz, 9 Hours Movie Playback with 1080i using Vista… No word on price or demographic availability but a planned launch around Q1 2009.

InPhase has been promising its Tapestry (holographic storage disks) since 2005, but we’ve seen any product in action ever since. According to several recent reports, the constant setbacks and delays have just forced the Longmont, Colorado-based firm to trim down a its workforce to a length. In fact, the company fired its 120+ staff on May 30 in both engineering and research areas courtesy of CEO Nelson Diaz.

Well, InPhase should better come up with some real product now before its overpriced holographic storage end up in illusion rather than a reality…
